Anycubic Kobra X is the latest FDM printer in the “multicolor” class, which opens a new chapter in the Kobra series, focusing on integrated multi-material printing (soft/hard), high speed, and “smart” features like remote control and AI for error detection. The premiere takes place under the slogan “LIMIT. LESS.”, and the manufacturer strongly emphasizes the combination of a 4-color module built into the print head, the ACE Gen 2 system, and a competitive pre-sale price.

Premiere of Anycubic Kobra X

Anycubic Kobra X was first shown more widely at Formnext 2025 trade fair, where it was presented as the successor to Kobra 3 in the segment of multicolor FDM printers. Since December 2025, the brand has been running a global campaign “Kobra X – LIMIT. LESS.”, under which premiere pages have been launched in international and Polish stores.

Around the end of December, the start of official pre-sale with “Early Bird” offer is planned, including a special price on the global market and dedicated promotions in the EU and the Polish market. Marketing communications highlight slogans “2X the Speed, 2X the Material Savings” and the possibility of expanding the color system up to 19, which is to distinguish Kobra X from competitive multicolor solutions.

Key Features and Specifications

Anycubic Kobra X is an FDM printer with an open frame, designed for fast, multicolor, and multi-material printing in the 260 × 260 × 260 mm format. The manufacturer declares a maximum print speed of up to 600 mm/s (recommended ~300 mm/s), which, combined with a stiffer axis construction and a new print head, is to provide a real time gain compared to previous Kobra generations.

Color changes are handled by the ACE Gen 2 system with a 4-color module built directly into the print head, which limits purge length and reduces filament waste by up to about 50% in 4-color prints compared to older solutions. Importantly, thanks to compatibility with external ACE 2 Pro modules, Kobra X can be expanded to handle up to 19 colors, which was previously the domain of more expensive AMS systems and multi-module solutions.

4-Color and Multi-Material Printing

Kobra X was designed with the idea of simultaneously combining flexible filaments (e.g. TPU) with classic rigid materials (PLA, PETG) in one print. Integrating four filament paths into the print head, instead of the classic “tower” feeding system outside the bed, shortens the filament path, speeds up changes, and improves color repeatability on the model.

For the user, this means the ability to create objects with soft inserts (e.g. grips, damping elements, seals) and simultaneous printing of rigid parts within the same project, without manual material changes. Thanks to ACE Gen 2 and less purge waste, the real cost of multicolor and multi-material printing is to be noticeably lower, which is important for larger models and small-series production.

“Smart” Features: AI, Remote Control, LeviQ

Anycubic equipped Kobra X with a package of “smart” features that are to simplify operation and increase print repeatability, especially when working with multiple filaments. Among the key solutions are AI for anomaly detection (e.g. model detachment, incorrect extrusion), work monitoring, and remote printer control via the network.

The first layer is handled by the new generation of automatic leveling system LeviQ 3.0, with a denser measurement grid and optimized compensation algorithms, which is to ensure even adhesion, also with more demanding materials. The “must-have” list also includes: filament end sensor, print resumption after power loss, and quieter operation with active noise reduction (declared ≤45 dB in quiet mode).

What We Know So Far, and What’s Still Missing

At the time of the premiere, the manufacturer revealed the full list of key features, but some details – such as the target price of kits in the EU version or the final list of supported slicers – are still being developed. It is already known that Kobra X will work with the ACE 2 / ACE 2 Pro ecosystem and that Anycubic is targeting it at users looking for a fast, multicolor FDM printer with emphasis on reducing material losses and automation.

In the community, questions arise about firmware openness, compatibility with popular slicers like Orca Slicer, and details of camera integration and video stream, which may be important for advanced users and content creators. At the same time, the first presentations from Formnext and video materials show that Anycubic treats Kobra X as a symbol of return to more refined, ambitious projects in the FDM segment, placing it in the same row with the large Kobra S1 Max and resin Photon P1.
